Brilliant Shine Balloons are a Virtual Triumph
BBI Brandboost were delighted to be one of the sponsors of the “Supporting Newborn Babies Race,” an imaginative online interactive event recently organised by Shine. This is a terrific charity that provides specialist advice and support for individuals with spina bifida and hydrocephalus and their families.
This is a great way to raise funds and since the 1990s Shine has been approaching thousands of companies each year to sponsor their own balloon in a highly entertaining race. In 2009 they started holding their races in the virtual world because of concerns that real helium filled party balloons could cause damage to wildlife and the environment.
Shine’s virtual balloon races are very popular events and have successfully raised funds for this worthy cause. You can decorate your balloon, interact on social media and get thoroughly uplifted by the experience! This year over 2,100 sponsors took part. Our BBI Brandboost balloon valiantly travelled 4,854.16 virtual kilometres and finished in 740th position. However, we are by no means feeling deflated!
Our congratulations to the winners and our thanks to Shine for organising this fantastic event. Also, our apologies for the two balloon puns in the previous paragraph, but we just couldn’t resist the temptation!
